Dr. Michael McNamara joined Nottingham University Business School China in May 2023. Michael possesses extensive teaching experience with a focus on delivering commercial law topics to business students. Previously, he served as a Senior Lecturer at the College of Business, Government and Law at Flinders University in Australia.

Michael earned his Ph.D. from Griffith Law School, where he also worked as a legal clinic supervisor. During his time there, he was honoured with a Griffith University Postgraduate Research Scholarship. Before embarking on a full-time academic career, Michael practised as a solicitor, specialising primarily in business and property law.

He is the author of "Supervision in the Legal Profession" (Palgrave Macmillan, 2020), a pioneering research monograph dedicated to the subject of professional supervision within the context of legal practice. This cross-disciplinary work, acknowledged and utilised by legal professional bodies and regulators, explores the interplay between legal education, practice management, and ethics.
