Zhangfan Cao is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Accounting at the Nottingham University Business School (NUBS) China. Zhangfan holds a PhD in Accounting and Finance from the University of Edinburgh. Before pursuing his PhD, Zhangfan received his MSc with Distinction at King's College London.

His research focuses on market-based accounting research, corporate finance and governance, supply chain finance, Environment, Society and Governance (ESG), and capital market. He has published in Accounting and Finance, Accounting Forum, British Accounting Review, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Corporate Finance, and Regional Studies among others.
