Seongyong Lee is an Assistant Professor in Applied Linguistics at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China. Before joining UNNC, he worked as an Assistant Professor at BNU-HKBU United International College between 2018-2021, a sino-foreign international university in Zhuhai, Guangdong. In addition, he was an Assistant Professor at Hannam University between 2021-2023, serving as the head of the English Education Department. He has taught diverse courses in TESOL and sociolinguistics. His research interests include AI in L2 education, teacher training with technology, intercultural communication, English as a lingua franca, and Global Englishes. His articles have appeared in prestigious international journals, such as TESOL Quarterly, Computer Assisted Language Learning, Computers & Education, System, ELT Journal, Applied Linguistics Review, Education & Information Technologies, Interactive Learning Environments, Educational Technology & Society, English Today, Lingua, and Asian Englishes. He is currently serving as the Editor-in-Chief of Multimedia Assisted Language Learning, which is sponsored by the Korea Association of Multimedia Assisted Language Learning. He is working as a member of the editorial board of BERJ (British Educational Research Journal: SSCI). He is also working for the editorial board of English Teaching (SCOPUS).
