Personal profile

Dr. Luis is a designer and design educator with over 15 years of professional experience. His involvement in the design industry began even before his undergraduate studies, combining part-time design roles with formal education in Industrial Design. After graduating, he transitioned into full-time design practice.

Throughout his career, he has worked as both an in-house designer and independent consultant, contributing to projects for clients primarily across Latin America. His design work spans various fields, including furniture, packaging, retail design, exhibitions, lifestyle accessories, digital design, and interior design.

Since 2011, he has taught Product and Industrial Design at Higher Education Institutions in India, Mexico, and, since 2019, in China. His teaching approach is grounded in student-centered learning and user-centered design. As part of his doctoral research, he explored the multiple factors that shape the education of object designers, with a focus on developing effective teaching and learning practices through a comparative analysis of different design education contexts.
