Abstract
This study presents an approach on the impact of Open Educational Resources (OER) in the development of creative thinking skills based on the teaching model for the application of knowledge with an inquiry strategy related to learning, which led to the conclusion on how creative thinking is favored through the use and exploitation of OER. The study was implemented in four higher education schools, three of them located in Colombia and one in India; it is based on the question: How OER become a suitable tool for teaching creativity in Art and Design Higher Education Institutions?
To find the answer, educational innovation strategy was applied based on evidence with case studies´ research method. Three assessment instruments were designed, these were: Interview with teacher, student surveys and observation by an individual outside the teaching process, to analyze what happens in the classroom.
