Current research interests fall into the following areas:
- Advanced functional thin film developments for marine applications.
- Mechanical properties and microstructure characterisation of thermally sprayed coatings, such as thermal barriers coatings (TBCs) for gas turbine engine applications.
- High temperature creep behaviour and failure mechanism investigation of thermal barrier coatings by means of small punch creep test.
- Electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) measurements of induced strain during small specimen creep tests.
- Element diffusion and phase evolution modelling of multi-phase alloys during welding and heat treatment.
