Abstract
The physical and chemical characterization and analysis on the surface of four carbon fibers (T300, T700, T800 and AS4) were performed by SEM, AFM and XPS. Observed by SEM, the surface physical morphology of T300 and T800 was similar, the surface of T700 was glossier and had flocculus and the surface of AS4 was most glossy and had larger diameter. More micromorphology of carbon fibers were revealed, the difference on surface state of T300 and T800 were great. Quantitative analysis by XPS, the surface activity of T300, T700 and T800 were materialized on the mechanical property of composites' interface.
