Abstract

A model and experiment of an aqueous slurry process are reported. According to an ideal structure of a fiber-reinforced composite, we present a square geometrical model to build up the relationships among some important parameters in the process such as powder particle diameter, wet slurry concentration, flow distance of melting powder particle, and fiber volume fraction of the composite. Practical experiments based on these relationships provide the optimum parameters for manufacturing the continuous fiber reinforced polyethylene matrix composite.
