Personal profile

Weijian Huang is a fully-funded PhD candidate in English Studies (Translation) in the School of Education and English at the University of Nottingham. His doctoral project delves deeper into the translation and media communication of the COVID-19 pandemic in China. His research interests include news translation, international communications, and critical discourse analysis.

Prior to this, he worked as a full-time Deputy Editor-in-Chief of English News in the Office of Global Communications at Peking University, after obtaining his Master’s degree in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Nottingham in the UK. He is also a CATTI certified interpreter and translator between Chinese and English, with work experiences in projects assigned by the United Nations, China Central Television, and China Daily, among others.
