Personal profile

Amarpreet Gill joined University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) in 2013, as the Design Studio Tutor of the BEng Product Design and Manufacture program in the Department of Mechanical, Material and Manufacturing Engineering, within the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

Amarpreet is an award-winning designer with extensive experience in automotive and industrial design. He graduated from the prestigious MFA Transport Design program at Umea Institute of Design, Sweden, and has worked for several global companies, including SAAB AB, Electrolux Group, and ŠKODA Auto.

Since joining UNNC, Amarpreet has won 30+ international design awards, secured several patents, led multiple collaborations with industry, and published in various international peer-reviewed journals. He is a core member of the Science and Engineering Education research group, a fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a member of the Institute of Engineering Designers.

Research Interests

Amarpreet’s research interests span several areas, including design for sustainability, interdisciplinary learning, industry-education collaboration, technology-enhanced education, and human-computer interaction. His PhD focuses on the use of technology and digital pedagogy in design and engineering education.
