Abstract

Both integrated composite structure and function- integrated composite structure are target of advanced manufacturing technology in aircraft industry. Energy absorption structure is typically function-integrated structure. For composite tubes, it was found that the energy absorption behavior was increased by increasing the axial tows for braided structure, or by laying-up the prepregs orientated in the axial direction, or by increasing the interlaminar toughness. For integrated aircraft structure, sine wave beams were fabricated and demonstrated by using the textile fabrics and liquid molding.
