Abstract
This paper presents first thermo-analytical test results with adhesives and adhesive bonds. It was found that the conditions of curing have a characteristic effect on the structural properties of the cured adhesives. The relationship dealt with was the degree of turnover-time-temperature relationship of adhesives when crosslinking. In addition, the influence of curing conditions on the strength and aging behaviour was discussed. Results indicate that there is a recognizable relationship between the curing conditions and the expected mechanical and thermal properties, including the resistance of the bonds when undergoing thermal stress. Furthermore, the early recognition of damage in the adhesive, and the thickness dependence of the strength deformation behaviour were mentioned. It was shown that the research results and the collected experience in laboratories could also find direct application in industry.
