Abstract

In order to improve the hygrothermal properties of epoxy resin matrix and its composites, the cyanate resin was used as curing agent of epoxy. The reaction mechanism and the hygrothermal property of epoxy casting cured by cyanate were investigated, and the hygrothermal property of the composites was discussed. The results show, the polycyanurate formed in curing process will open ring to react with epoxide to form oxazoline structure; epoxy casting cured by cyanate possesses excellent hygrothermal property; the epoxy matrix composites has excellent resistance. Its saturation moisture content is lower than 0.36%, and it has a higher in-service temperature under hygrothermal condition. Comparison with several composites, it kept higher flexural and shear strength under hygrothermal condition.
