Abstract

Effect of magnetic powder fraction (Vf) on crystallization of the HDPE was investigated with different scanning calorimetry (DSC) and wide angle X-ray diffractometer (WAXD). It was observed that the HDPE transcrystalline is formed on the surface of the NdFeB powder substrates through a polarization microscope. The heterogeneous nucleation towards higher temperature in the DSC curves when Vf is relatively low. With the increase of Vf, the propagation of crystalline lamellae and spherulites is restricted owning to significant restriction of the movement of molecular chains. No new crystal type in transcrystalline region of the HDPE is formed.
