Abstract
In this paper shear elastic behaviour of linear polyethylene melt was quantitatively and qualitatively characterized by rheological parameters such as elastic shear compliance Jc, recoverable elastic strain SR, melt die swell and so on. The relationships between these parameters and the characteristics were also studied and discussed. The influence of the shear elastic behaviour on the processing property of the PE's was pointed out.
