Dr. Ruolan Chen is a Teaching Fellow in Marketing at Nottingham University Business School (NUBS), University of Nottingham Ningbo China. Previously, she worked at Coventry University (UK) as a part-time lecturer. Dr. Chen completed her PhD at Aston University (UK). She also has an MSc from Newcastle University (UK) and a BA (Hons) from Northumbria University (UK).

Dr. Chen’s research focuses on customer relationship management in services and retailing. She is also interested in a wide range of issues related to social media marketing and digital innovation. Dr. Chen’s research methodology is empirically-oriented with an emphasis on meta-analysis.

As an educator, Dr.Chen is enthusiastic about teaching. Her pedagogical practices are about delivering contemporary marketing theories and models, using real-life industrial examples to encourage reflective and critical thinking, and incorporating advanced educational technologies into teaching. She holds a PGCHE and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
