Abstract

The features of industrial powder coating booth designs are discussed. A coating booth is an enclosure that is designed to contain the powder application process. The coating booth is used to keep the powder particles inside the enclosed region and facilitate the reclaim of oversprayed powder. The booth should have fewer openings as it minimizes the chances of particles leaving the booth. Results showed that the method of vacuum application has significant impact on the overall performance of the coating process and maintaining the required containment air velocities at booth openings.
