Abstract

Quantum dots (QDs) are of excellent emission characteristics to elevate the exceptional quality of light source, leading to the rapid expansion of commercial display application. Particularly, with the enormous progresses of chemical synthesis and ligand engineer, the photoluminescence (PL) down-conversion application of QDs is emergent in new display to achieve high color reproduction. Meanwhile, introducing as emissive layer in electroluminescence (EL), QDs light-emitting diode have been paid lots of attentions in active light-emitting display, along with inkjet printing technique. Here, we brief introduce the basic properties and synthesis process of QDs. Finally, the display applications of QDs are summarized, including PL and EL, and forecasting its prospective future.
