A convex optimization approach to the mode acceleration problem

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to introduce an alternative procedure to the mode acceleration method when the underlying structure model includes damping. We will show that the problem can be cast as a convex optimization problem that can be solved via linear matrix inequalities.
