Personal profile

I have been in Chinese education since 2007, teaching a wide variety of modules and content. Before moving to UNNC, I previously worked at universities in Shanghai and Zhejiang.  Currently I am working at the Language Centre and continue to convene and teach mandarin modules,as well as other duties and expertise within LC.

Teaching

I have taught language and culture courses in the following Universities:

  • University of Nottingham Ningbo China (2010 to present)
  • Zhejiang Wanli University(2009)
  • Shanghai International Studies University(2007-2008)

Research Interests

Expertise Summary

I have two on-going projects:

  • Reader's Theatre to develop reading fluency —— in the form of RT which is an artistic drama-based preparation and stage presentation of theatrical scenarios method, where the reader is called to interpret dialogues effectively.
  • Learning a language in immersion —— providing learners more immersion context and create materials that can inspire students to study more effectively and more autonomously.
