Ms Vivian Yan

Ms Vivian Yan has been a Mandarin teacher since September 2013 and has been the module convenor and teacher of all levels of credit-bearing Mandarin courses, including comprehensive courses from to intermediate levels, skill-based courses, as well as non-credit bearing modules such as Discover Ningbo with Chinese, Practical Mandarin, Mandarin for everyday life, etc. She is interested in second language teaching and language acquisition, as well as local cultural study under the perspective of Mandarin teaching and learning. She worked as PI for the RKE project at the university level and as CoI for projects internally and externally.

As the Marketing and Executive Education Manager at the Language Centre, she is responsible for the school’s outreach and communications.

Before joining UNNC, she worked for Columbia University for two months to teach business Mandarin to students in the business Chinese and internship program. I taught students of intermediate level and advanced level Comprehensive Business Chinese.
