Personal profile

Dr Paolo Bianchi joined The University of Nottingham Ningbo, China in September 2009. Previously he worked at the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM) in Milan where his research focused on "Municipal Capitalism", i.e. the intervention of local government in the economy through owned/participated companies.

In 2009, Paolo obtained his PhD degree from Universita' Bocconi of Milan (Italy). Paolo research areas include the growth of Chinese firms, the econometrics of rational expectations and professional forecasters, the political economics of Italian local governments, the influence of external threats on countries' political regimes and comparison of Bayesian methodologies for VAR based model evaluation. Prior to academics, Paolo worked as a freelance trainer for SPSS Italia Spa, and in the private sector in the electricity and natural gas market in Italy. While at UNNC Paolo directed successfully two projects for Nottingham Technology Asia Ltd.
