Abstract

This paper investigates people's requirements for, acceptance of and concerns around, a concept for a real time 'taxi share' application. This concept used a combination of mobile device and shared public display that can overcome issues with mobile devices and service promotion, but has risks associated with the disclosure of personal data. The following study used survey and interviews to find a positive response to the taxi sharing concept, with perceived advantages for costs and social contact. The initial understanding of system's functional and information requirements and constraints on acceptance were derived and discussed.
