    Abstract

In recent years, multiphase drive systems have attracted considerable attention due to their high-power density. This work focuses on the electromagnetic torque ripple reduction using an auxiliary PWM converter in dual three-phase PMSM drive systems. The PWM control methodology represents a principal contributor to generating electromagnetic torque ripples observed within motor drive systems. The proposed auxiliary converter mitigates the current harmonics produced by the primary converter using a low switching frequency. The electromagnetic torque ripple is effectively eliminated, and the torque performance of the dual three-phase drive system is improved.
