Abstract

China’s media landscape has undergone tremendous change over the last few years. Technological innovation, the transformation of traditional media industry, the explosion of new media use have changed not only the landscape for the dissemination of entertainment and information, but also the communication methods and models between the media and public in China. The development of media industry has been emphasized as part of the cultural industries in the priority area for further economic development, together with the promotion of China’s Soft Power worldwide. This editorial work is targeted to present these evolutions from studies carried out by Chinese scholars from different angles and phases to understand the dramatic change in media landscape in China.
