Abstract

Numerical simulations are used to investigate the characteristics of gas and coal particle two-phase flow in a tangentially fired furnace. In order to examine the detailed behavior of the flow, five different load cases are studied and the results of the simulation are presented in detail. These results provide useful information for safe operating and can be used to optimize the design of the corner-fired furnaces.
