Abstract

In this paper, aircraft model with control surface impairment faults is described as a set of affine parameter-dependent linear systems. New tests for stability and performance for this type of systems are presented. Based on these tests, a reliable tracking controller design method via static output feedback is given. These tests and design method are based on the notion of affine quadratic stability/performance and solvability of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), and have less conserv-ativeness than existing methods. Design and simulation results are presented to illustrate the advantage of the proposed approach over standard flight controllers.
