Abstract

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows: To assess the efficacy of brief psychoeducational interventions as a means of helping severely mentally ill people when added to 'standard' care, compared with the efficacy of standard care alone. The secondary objective is to investigate whether there is evidence that a particular kind (individual/family/group) of brief psychoeducational intervention is superior to others.
