Abstract
It has been 25 years since “Many Voices, One World”, commonly known as the MacBride Report, was published by UNESCO in 1980. Calling for free, open and balanced communication, the Report has made its impact on worldwide efforts to establish a more just and fair system in information flow. In this paper, we review the discussions and efforts made in Asia to address the issue of information imbalance and New World Information Order since 1980.
