Abstract
Amid the global responses to COVID-19, the role of mobile in coping with the pandemic and its impact have brought about changes in mobile media, mobilities, and mobile communications, which have led to global academic efforts to examine those changes. Against this backdrop, this collection examined 12 compelling cases of how mobile has been leveraged in coping with COVID-19 in China. After introducing the fundamental framework interconnecting these 12 cases, this introductory chapter offered a glimpse of what to expect in each chapter. More importantly, this chapter offered though-provoking questions to engage the readers of this collection in learning and comparing the experience and expertise from China. The identified mobile ways in this collection are a stepping stone to more discoveries about how mobile can be leveraged to enhance our health communication and management in a public health crisis in an increasingly interconnected and interdependent world.
