Abstract
This paper discusses the ways in which some cyberpunk narratives simultaneously indulge cyberpunk aesthetics while ultimately deconstructing the ideologies of transhumanism and revaluing the classical notion of the human as a biologically embodied soul. Neuromancer and The Diamond Age are used as case studies.
