Abstract
Pedestrian behavior and evacuation simulations have gained increased attention due to their crucial role in urban planning, crowd management, and emergency response. This chapter provides a comprehensive literature review on digital technologies employed to understand pedestrian and evacuation behavior. Over twenty different simulation models and software packages have been introduced comprehensively, aiming to enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of simulations and planning strategies in the field of urban design and emergency management.
