Abstract
A slotless high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motor with a novel double layer Halbach array is proposed in this paper. A simple structure, easily optimize, and a well sine air-gap flux density can be obtained with this array. The flux density distribution of double-layer Halbach array is solved analytically by using the scalar magnetic potential. Expressions of the flux density distribution and back-EMF of the motor are derived successively. Analysis shows that the optimized air gap flux density harmonic distortion rate is only 0.5%, and the electric potential of the harmonic content is also very small. A prototype is manufactured, and some experiments are carried out with it. The reasonableness of the analytical method is validated by comparing with the simulation results and measured results.
