Abstract

This paper presents a real-time computer-based system to recognize human facial emotion using fuzzy neural network approach. The system first locates the human face in an image, and then identifies the localized face emotion. The understanding of how to extract the facial components, select and reduce facial features and emotion recognition through the facial expression are presented in the paper. It highlights how individual module is integrated to the proposed system. The system is evaluated through our created test sets. The experimental results show encouraging hit rates for detecting major emotions.
