Abstract

The experimental results presented for Sm2ScTaO7 pyrochlore in this study, temperature dependence of heat capacity and retaining the pyrochlore structure with the temperature variation, as well as the constant value of the thermal expansion coefficient in a wide temperature range, can be considered as evidences for the absence of a previously reported phase transition in the high-temperature region for this compound. This means that Sm2ScTaO7pyrochlore is no doubt a promising material for thermal barrier coatings.
