Abstract

This research sets forth to explore the interaction between key factors of strategic supply management including strategic purchasing, long-term relationships, communication, supplier's prompt response, buyer's responsiveness to customers, and buyer's financial performance. The constructs were developed based on an extensive literature review. They were tested for reliability, validity and unidimensionality using confirmatory factor analysis. The proposed path analytical model was tested using the structural equation modeling approach. Results of this study support previous research and provide additional insights into strategic supply management and supply chain performance. They also demonstrate the importance of customer responsiveness as a time-based supply chain performance measurement.
