Refining environmental protection taxes for a sustainable future

Research output: Journal PublicationComment/debate

Abstract

Environmental degradation requires innovative fiscal measures. A recent Cell Reports Sustainability article reveals that acquisition taxes delay electric vehicle transitions more than other types, highlighting the need for tailored environmental protection taxes. Here, we emphasize the importance of innovative strategies and stakeholder collaboration to overcome challenges like limited institutional capacity and political resistance, ensuring these taxes support a sustainable future.
