Abstract

Poly (3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) and gelatin blending films were prepared via solution casting method. Thermal properties of the blends were measured by DSC, increment of Tm was observed comparing with pure PHBV. The spherulitic morphology and crystal structure of the blends were studied with POM and WAXD. It is found that the ring-banded structure of the spherulites became obscure with the addition of gelatin and the crystallinity decreased with increasing content of gelatin. Furthermore, contact angle of the blends with the fraction of 25/75 decreased to 56.8°.
