title = "Pixel reconstruction for speckle reduction in 3d optical coherence tomography of retina",
abstract = "Speckle noise reduction in optical coherence tomography (OCT) is important for better visualization and analysis in retinal imaging. This paper proposes a novel pixel reconstruction based method to reduce speckle noise in 3D OCT of retina. In the proposed method, each pixel is estimated as the sum of a noise-free part and a noise part, which are solved by axial-scan based alignment and a low rank matrix completion algorithm. Evaluated in a data set of 20 volumes, results show that the proposed method effectively reduces the noise. The technology is beneficial and can be used in OCT machines.",
