Abstract

Versions of selected papers presented at the 9th Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems (PACIS), Bangkok, July 2005, are presented. The central focus of the conference was on the roles, functions and impacts of information and communications technologies on creating sustainable values for knowledge-driven economies. The latest research related to the evolving field of Decision Support Systems and E-commerce in the context of value creation. The first two papers deal with Enterprise Systems and both papers acknowledge the high rate of implementation failure of ERP, and attempt to propose solutions to alleviate some of the problems related to system configuration and organizational culture. Dreiling, Rosemann, and van der Aalst propose a meta model that aims to integrate various process modeling techniques initiated by key stakeholders such as managers, operational staff, and technical analysts.
