Abstract

Recent development of information technology enables supply chains to be spread across different countries. Among many options, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), which is often recognised as online applications, is a very popular concept particularly in service sectors such as financial service or hotel industry. This research alms to study the impact of SOA on the hotel supply chains. In order to determine the effects of SOA, appropriate performance indicators are required and are studied in this paper. A questionnaire survey is then employed to collect empirical data from selected hotels ranking from 2-star to 5-star, with and without implementation of SOA. Consequently, results indicate that the hotels with SOA can perform better than hotels without SOA in terms of various supply chain performance indicators. Justifications of the findings are discussed in the paper.
