Abstract

The adoption of new technologies in the design process has played a key role in contemporary architecture. This has instigated teachers to understand the cognitive process involved in learning design. This paper is a case study of the discipline Responsive Architecture taught at Unicamp by architect Anne Save de Beaurecueil. The course includes an intense use of computational methods for generation, representation and modeling. The purpose of this research is to describe the method used from the observation of activities, contextualizing it in the scenario of new architectural practices and their impact on teaching in schools of international excellence. Finally, we verify that are similarities in the method for inclusion new technologies with current pedagogical practices in the architecture teaching.
