Abstract

This paper presents an investigation into the design considerations with regards to enhancing sensorless control of an SPMSM. It includes an approach to calculating and evaluating the self-sensing properties of a permanent magnet machine. Then, the effects that different stator geometrical parameters have on a machines overall and self-sensing performance.
