Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop and investigate a B1 correction method incorporating with a short pre-scan to correct B1 inhomogeneity especially for specific weighted MRI images like the Fat-suppressed T1-weighting without addition of any coils. A low resolution pre-scan with the same weighted function as subsequent scan is applied right before the normal scan. Both B0 field intensity map and receiving sensitivity field map can be derived from the pre-scan based on my new algorithm. The new methods demonstrated a better performance in correcting fat-suppressed T1-weighted MRI images.
