Abstract

Fractal characteristics of the droplet size distribution arising in an atomization process have been studied in this paper. The fractal dimensions were measured experimentally. Simulations of droplet splitting have been carried out and the corresponding fractal dimensions have been obtained numerically. Based on the results obtained from experiments and simulations, a mathematical model of droplets splitting at uniformly distributed probability has been established.
