Abstract

An intelligent system for vertebrate promoter recognition was discussed. It uses a collection of models based on multisensor integration, signal processing and artificial neural networks. Bioinformatics gene search methods are based either on homology analysis of the potential gene product or on the analysis of signal that indicate gene presence. Promoters contain docking sites for specialized proteins that synergistically initiate gene transcription.
