Abstract

Attendance system has been followed for a long time now, and has evolved from being maintained in loose paper sheets, registers, and signature-based records to online attendance systems, Radio Frequency Identification, and biometric identification techniques. This paper focuses on location based attendance verification and monitoring system. The proposed system incorporates MIMOS’ Mi-ILP platform which adopts Wi-Fi fingerprinting approach to compute real-time position. This system provides real-time location tracking in forms of a proprietary coordinate system which is later used as a proof of attendance. The attendance timestamps will be received from Mi-ILP through MQTT protocol, which will be updated in the database. The attendance grid will reflect the data received by changing the indicator colors based on the student attendance. The student’s status will be evaluated based on the checkpoints marked present. Real-time statistical graphs and audit reports will be generated based on the status. Both status evaluation and real-time statistical graph function with the help of parametric conditions.
