In 2021, a third prize was awarded by the Ministry of Education based on a paper published in Journal of Management Information Systems in 2014. The paper was co-authored by Patrick Chau with three scholars, one at Tianjin University, one at Huazhong University of Science and Technology and one at IIT in India.
