Personal profile

Personal profile

My research and teaching experience span the field of sustainable architecture design and architectural engineering design. I completed my PhD in sustainable built environment from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia, in 2011. Prior to joining UNNC in 2013, I worked as an urban design studio tutor and sessional lecturer at UNSW, and then a Lead Consultant/Technical Manager in the Eco-city Research Center, Siemens Corporate Technology. My research interest lies primarily in four areas: 1) Sustainable eco city development; 2) Building life cycle material, energy and carbon modelling and analysis; 3) Passive house technologies in the hot summer and cold winter climate; 4) Building prototyping and modeling.

I have published a monograph (co-author with Ali Cheshmehzangi) with Palgrave Macmillan, entitled “Eco-development in China: cities, communities and buildings”. This book was granted the China New Development Award by the Springer Nature in August 2019 for “its exceptional contributions to the UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of Sustainable Cities and Communities”.
