Dr. Wei Cai is an Assistant Professor in Accounting at Nottingham University Business School China (NUBS China). He received his PhD in Accounting from the University of Waikato (New Zealand). He has published in accounting and finance journals such as Pacific Accounting Review, Finance & Accounting. His research papers have been presented at academic conferences, e.g., AFAANZ, SARN. Wei also serves as a peer reviewer for leading academic outlets, such as Energy Economics (ABS: 3), International Review of Financial Analysis (ABS: 3), Research in International Business and Finance (SSCI), and Pacific Accounting Review (JCR: Q2), etc. He serves as the PI (Principal Investigator) of a provincial-ministerial level research project, receiving a research grant of 80,000 yuan from the regular projects of the Zhejiang Federation of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Before joining NUBS China, Wei worked in the University of Waikato and the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Prior to his academic career, Wei served as an auditor at RSM China. He holds several professional qualifications, such as Chinese Certified Public Accountant (CICPA), US Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified Practising Accountant (CPA Australia), etc.
